With 12.000 square meters of total surface, the new pavilion is built on a triangular terrain, next to the clinical pavilion that already exists. The team of architects began to work on the project in 1999 and the opening of the first floors for public use took place in 2011.
To improve the integration next to the Clinical Pavilion of the Puigvert Foundation, which is next to the New Pavilion, constructed in 1964 under the prevailing premises of rationalism of the time, the exterior of the building was applied a ceramic brick-based cladding that totally covers the south façade and acts as a union with the historical construction. The complex support structure of the set of façades was entrusted to Sistema Masa, that contributed to the design with products belonging to the MASA Specials range.
