VENTILATED FACADES OF THE SISTEMA MASA FOR THE EXTENSION OF THE ALTO PALERMO SHOPPING CENTER IN BUENOS AIRES

Project features
Alto Palermo Shopping (AP), one of Argentina's most successful shopping centers, is undergoing the biggest renovation in its 30 years. With a project by PfZ Arquitectos, the work is progressing steadily to inaugurate in December a new gastronomic sector dominated by a terrace and, by taking a neighboring land, it will offer a larger commercial area. The ambitious remodeling focuses on the access portal on Santa Fe Avenue.
- Architect: Pfeifer-Zurdo Arquitectos - https://www.pfzarquitectos.com.ar/
- Location: Av. Santa Fe 3253, 1091 CABA, Argentina
- Approximate surface: 533.58 m2
- Type of anchor: PF-ALU/HPL
- Type of building: shopping center
- Cladding: Natural stone

This project tries to cover 3 faces of the extension of the elevator shaft, having to continue with the existing cladding. The support is a metallic structure composed of IPNs and UPNs, which limits the location and the number of supports that we can install to hold the vertical profiles. In the corners the vertical profile is shared, in addition, the cladding is in front of the large central plates (1x1x1x0.03 m), which forces us to use different sizes of corbels.
